Kanter blogs about the recent events on Northwest flight 253 by asking all leaders (not just airline industry leaders) to look at what lessons were learned by this near miss and how could a disaster be prevented.
To leaders she writes: “Leaders set the tone about how seriously everyone else takes the situation. And that, in turn, determines how hard people work on the analysis, communication, and coordination that can catch the next vulnerabilities before they get out of hand (or board the plane).”
This statement could be applied any change initiative especially an enterprise risk management program at your organization.
