There’s been a lot written this week about reputation risk and brand thanks to the events surrounding Tiger Woods and his sponsors. Well, here’s a reputation risk story which made me laugh.
An adult actress named Ashley Madison Myrick, (stage name) “has filed a lawsuit against online dating site Ashley Madison for the “humiliation’ she has endured over having the same name as the site that promotes infidelity.”
She’s a porn actress and is worried about her “brand” and being associated with a dating site for married people looking to have affairs?
It seems the dating site has been around since 2002 while the actress changed her name in 2005 so they are suing her “for using their trademark to inappropriately garner goodwill to support her acting career.”
