Update: For Chartis’ RiskTech 100 report for 2009 click here: http://riskczar.com/2009/11/02/chartis-risktech-100-report-for-2009/
If you are interested in the latest and greatest in risk management technology, I was just having a look at a ranking performed by Charis Research, a.k.a the Chartis RiskTech 100 report. According to the document, this is the “most comprehensive and prestigious study of the top technology firms active in the risk management market.” (Their words, I am just the messenger).
It is dated 2008, so I am not sure how fresh the data is so download the whole thing for free at http://chartis-research.com
Their top 5 looks like this:
- SunGard
- Oracle (includes Mantas and Reveleus if that means anything to you)
- Algorithmics (from Toronto!)
- RiskMetrics
- ThomsonReuters (which would include Paisley which I used once upon a time)
There is lots of other information on methodologies and criteria which explains the ranking order.
You do have last year’s report. They just released the new one and the top 5 are SAS Institute, Algo, Sungard, Oracle and Fiserv.
It is a comprehensive report but I’m not sure about the value of the rankings – it is rather like comparing apples and oranges.
